Ramblings of a playful girl

Nudity

I was at my Boy Toy’s place a while ago, and we were talking with a friend of ours. The conversation drifted to clothes and nudism. Ok, let’s forget for a minute the need for clothing to protect our bodies against the elements… Isn’t it fucked up, that we hide some select parts of our bodies and feel ashamed of showing them in public? I mean, really think about it. It’s clearly a society thing, since there are tribes out there that just hang out naked. In some countries women go topless on the beach while in other countries, it’s frowned upon or quite simply forbidden. In yet other countries, women have to go completely hidden, wearing veils that hide even their faces and hair. There is also the fact that throughout the ages, different things have been considered indecent or sexy. But if we weren’t conditioned to think some specific parts must be hidden, we wouldn’t think anything of it. Nudism wouldn’t be a “movement” and it wouldn’t be limited to certain special beaches or resorts. Isn’t it kind of random, too? What if we decided hands are dirty and should be kept out of sight? Well ok, not THAT random. I guess what we have to hide is anything used for sex. Genital organs, butts, boobies. All the fun bits. But what about people with, say, a foot fetish? Nobody around here thinks anything of walking around in sandals in the summer, but for the foot fetichist, this is like a woman walking around topless. And do you really think that there would be more sex or rape because we’d be showing everything? Obviously not! It’d be normal to us, we'd be desentisized to it, the shock factor would disappear. Of course, it might make it a little less exciting to catch a glimpse of a boob or a butt. I wonder what would be considered erotic or exciting, then? Poor voyeurs, they'd have to go to some lenght to see anything worth their while, I bet.   All this to say, we do a lot of weird things just because society says we should. But who decides this? And does it really matter? It seems to me we like to complicate our lives with all sorts of societal norms that don’t always make sense. I can think of at least one good reason to keep things as they are, though, aside from the obvious environmental reasons. If being naked was normal and meant nothing, ordering my Boy Toy to stay naked while I am clothed wouldn’t have the effect it currently has on him. Awwwww! Now THAT would suck ;) Hey, don't get me wrong, I’m still going to continue wearing clothes… I’m a slave to society, what can I say? Or maybe I'm just not the exhibitionist type? Except maybe on Thursdays.
